GOP Opposes Use of State Funds to Counsel Gay Students

A hearty thank you and a rousing salute to Uribe for her work in counseling gay and lesbian students at Fairfax High School, and to the Los Angeles Unified School District for supporting her! It takes high courage to do what she is doing in the face of the mindless, hysterical opposition of some parents and others.
The virulent disease of homophobia--the fear, even terror, of homosexuals--still infects our society, threatening the welfare and happiness of thousands of homosexuals, young and old, who, like everybody else, are simply claiming their right to be who they are.
Hopefully, we are inching our way toward full and unqualified acceptance by all Americans, largely through the efforts of people like Uribe. May her tribe increase!
