Local News in Brief : Two Freeway Closures

Portions of the Santa Monica and San Diego freeways will be closed this weekend at their junction in West Los Angeles to permit pavement repair, the California Department of Transportation announced Thursday.

The following restrictions will be in effect:

- The southbound and northbound San Diego Freeway connectors to the westbound Santa Monica Freeway will be closed from 11 p.m. today until 11 a.m. Saturday.

- The number two, three and four lanes of the westbound Santa Monica will be closed between the San Diego Freeway and Bundy Avenue, starting at 11 p.m. today. The number two lane will reopen at 7 a.m. Saturday, the others at 11 a.m. Saturday.

- The number one and two lanes of the westbound Santa Monica will be closed between the San Diego Freeway and Bundy, starting at 11 p.m. Saturday, with the rest of the westbound lanes closing there an hour later. The number one lane will reopen at 7 a.m. Sunday, with the others reopening four hours later.
