Local News in Brief : Seal Beach : 2 Killed as Car Crashes Off Freeway Into Tree
Two men were killed and another seriously injured Friday after a car left the San Diego Freeway and struck a tree south of Seal Beach, the California Highway Patrol said.
The driver, Tin Cu Vo, 36, of Mission Viejo, and his front passenger, Hop Duc Tran, 40, of Tustin, were killed, said Leslie Hill, a CHP spokeswoman.
Hill said the cause of the accident, which occurred about 4 a.m., was not immediately determined.
Thien Nguyen, 40, who was a passenger in a rear seat, was taken to Fountain Valley Regional Hospital & Medical Center. He was listed in serious condition Friday, a hospital spokeswoman said.
