South County : Victim of Gunshots Identified as L.A. Man

A murder victim whose body was discovered near Rancho Viejo Road and Spotted Bull Lane was identified Sunday as a 55-year-old Los Angeles man, authorities said.

The Sheriff’s Department said the victim was identified as Eddie Jerome Greene. He died of “multiple gunshot wounds,” according to the coroner’s office, which declined to elaborate. “It was definitely homicide, and that’s all I can say,” a coroner’s deputy said.

Greene’s body was first seen about 9 a.m. Friday by a woman who thought the man was asleep. Later that day, the unidentified woman told her husband, who went to the scene, found the man dead and notified authorities.

The Sheriff’s Department said the murder remains under investigation.
