Frankie Avalon returned to his hometown of Philadelphia to plug the Philadelphia Music Foundation’s “Hall of Fame” ceremonies this week by sweeping off an area of sidewalk he was told would hold a plaque in his honor. Trouble was, after ceremoniously sweeping the sidewalk in front of the city’s Academy of Music, the actor-singer learned his plaque would be placed down the street. Avalon and 10 other native Philadelphian entertainers will also be honored at a $150-a-plate dinner.
