U.S. District Judge Laughlin Waters ruled Wednesday that a homeowner organization opposed to additional flights at Long Beach Municipal Airport has no standing in his courtroom because the group’s bylaws state that it will have no members. Citing the provision in the bylaws and raising questions about the proper name of the group, Waters reversed his earlier decision to let L.B. HUSH present witnesses at the trial of a lawsuit brought by 13 major airlines seeking additional flights at the noise-plagued airport. L.B. HUSH, which stands for Long Beach Homes Under Stress and Hazard, is expected to appeal the decision.
