Lady Carroll Bing, wife of former Metropolitan Opera general manager Sir Rudolf Bing, was arrested in New York on Wednesday for failing to respond to an outstanding bench warrant, police said. The warrant was issued after she failed to appear in court Monday to answer charges of criminal trespass and harassment filed in February by Barbara Quinones, vice president for administration at Columbia Artists Management. Quinones alleged that Lady Bing entered her office without permission, harassed her and slapped her face. Lady Bing was outside the Columbia Artists offices--accompanied by her husband and a bodyguard--when she was arrested; police said they didn’t know why she’d returned to the management firm.
