Jazz Tributaries

As usual Leonard Feather arrived at the dock, but the boat had just left (“Heritage Foundation Tribute to the Rumseys,” March 22).

Everything I read in the press--except in The Times--and heard on the radio billed the event as “The Third Annual Paul Bullock Memorial Concert.” They also stated that “special tribute will be paid to Joyce and Howard Rumsey for their continued support of the Foundation, especially to the Paul Bullock Scholarshp Fund.”

I attended the concert and enjoyed it very much. I was very impressed with the “conventional performances by lesser-known local musicians.” Aside from that, I wonder what prompted Feather to expect “world-class artists” at a $10 concert at the Musicians’ Union?
