Local News in Brief : Santa Ana : Job Help Offered Older Unemployed Workers

Share

The city’s division of employment services is seeking older unemployed workers interested in re-entering the labor market.

New federal regulations have eased income eligibility requirements, and many such older workers may qualify for free training and job placement assistance, city officials said.

The program, called “55 and Starting Over,” is “an innovative employment program designed to meet the special needs of the 55 (and older) worker,” said Fran Jutzi, chief planner for the Private Industry Council of Santa Ana.
