Local News in Brief : Orange : Man, 24, Killed as Truck Leaves Road, Overturns
A 24-year-old man from the city of Orange was killed Sunday night when the truck he was driving swerved off Santiago Canyon Road near Chapman Avenue, hit a rock in a small ditch and flipped over, California Highway Patrol officials said.
The victim’s name was not released pending notification of next of kin, CHP spokesman Mike Lundquist said.
The victim was traveling north on Santiago Canyon Road at about 75 m.p.h. when the accident occurred at 9:45 p.m., Lundquist said.
The driver was alone in the car, and no other vehicles were involved in the accident.
