AT&T; has asked the Federal Communications Commission for approval to introduce two new phone services for business customers in 18 cities, including Los Angeles--the first public offering employing Integrated Services Digital Network technology. ISDN is an emerging set of international technical standards that eventually will enable customers to send voice, data and video calls simultaneously over a single phone line. One service, called Info-2, flashes a caller’s phone number on a computer screen or specially equipped phone; the other, known as Call-by-Call Service Selection, allows businesses to randomly designate outgoing and incoming phone lines for specific long-distance services instead of presetting them.
