Local News in Brief : Man Falls From Tree, Dies
A Pomona man who ignored advice and tried to recapture a neighbor’s parrot fell from a tree, fractured his skull and died, police said.
Tavrino Vasquez, 59, fell 8 to 10 feet and died at Pomona Valley Community Hospital.
Vasquez volunteered to retrieve the parrot despite advice not to try it; he was trying to reach it when he fell backward from the tree, the neighbor told police.
A coroner’s autopsy was scheduled to officially determine the cause of death.
