Downey : Woman Slain in Apartment
Downey detectives are investigating as a homicide the death of a 19-year-old woman in her Old River School Road apartment earlier this week, Lt. John Finch said.
The body of Laura Michelle Beauvais, a student, was found by her boyfriend Tuesday morning, Finch said. Autopsy results were pending, but Finch said the woman appeared to have suffered a blow to the head. Finch said some personal items were missing from the apartment.
No one was in custody Wednesday in connection with the death. “We have a number of leads we’re following up but it’s really early in the game right now,” Finch said.
