A 20-year-old Anaheim man has been arrested in connection with a fire earlier this year at Esther L. Walter Elementary School in Anaheim, authorities said.
Fire investigators arrested Bryan Lee Jones on Wednesday on suspicion of arson and booked him into County Jail, said Capt. Patrick McIntosh, a spokesman for the county Fire Department.
The arrest was made after an investigation of more than 50 fires that have occurred in Stanton, Garden Grove and Anaheim in the last six months, McIntosh said.
Jones was taken into custody at the Stanton sheriff’s station after being questioned by investigators about the Jan. 24 fire at Walter Elementary School, McIntosh said. The fire at the school, in the 10800 block of Rustic Lane, destroyed two classrooms and caused an estimated $195,000 in damage. No one was injured.
