Local News in Brief : Putting Brakes on Cruising
Hollywood Boulevard will be closed on weekend nights in an effort to halt cruising if City Councilman Michael Woo gets his way.
Woo proposed Friday that the street through the most visited part of Hollywood be closed from 7:30 p.m. to 1 a.m. on weekends, including Sundays if necessary, beginning April 15.
Before the policy takes effect, it must be passed by the Los Angeles City Council, but little opposition is expected.
