The march through the streets is still months off, but the Pasadena Tournament of Roses kicked off celebration of the Rose Parade’s 100th year with a noisy ceremony that featured trumpets, confetti cannons and the unveiling of the official centennial poster.

The 30-minute ceremony drew 400 people to Tournament House, spokeswoman Nancy Carr said, and featured the unveiling of a 24-foot-tall wrought-iron “centennial fountain” and the first showing of the poster by artist Melanie Taylor Kent, which depicts Tournament House with floats passing by and the Rose Bowl in the background.
