Santa Ana Man Killed in Crash
A Santa Ana man was killed when the car he was driving skidded off the Santa Ana Freeway and struck a tree in Anaheim late Friday, the California Highway Patrol reported.
Victor R. Talabantes, 22, was traveling south on the freeway south of Anaheim Boulevard about 11 p.m. when he apparently lost control of his car, which was traveling about 80 m.p.h. in the fast lane, witnesses told officers.
The car skidded across all the lanes, left the freeway and struck the tree.
Talabantes died of massive injuries at the scene, officers said.
