Terrorist Barrier Snares Capitol Security Official

WASHINGTON —
Architect of the Capitol George White, who helps to approve security measures at the building, was snared Friday by an anti-terrorism device and suffered a bloody nose and car damage.
“The hydraulic barrier malfunctioned,” said Elliott Carroll, White’s executive assistant, and the device popped up unexpectedly from the ground, stopping White’s car at the entrance to the Capitol parking lot. White’s car had to be towed off the metal barrier.
