Increases in the cost of newsprint will probably cause USA Today to lose money in 1988, following a profitable quarter at the end of 1987, John J. Curley, Gannett Co. president and chief executive, says. . . . Los Angeles-based TPA of America Inc. said it expects to report a loss of between $11 million and $12 million for the fourth quarter of 1987 because of certain health insurance business assumed by its insurance unit.
