Mardi Gras is this year’s theme as Orange Coast College on Tuesday opens its annual Coast Week on the community college campus.
The traditional event, which extends through Thursday, features booths and games on campus. About 1,500 high school seniors are expected as special guests Tuesday during the opening day activities. Campus clubs and organizations will have informational booths in the campus quad to help the high school visitors. A free barbecue for the high school students begins at noon, and a live band will be playing.
Orange County businesses also will be visiting the campus on Tuesday to give information to the high school and community college students about career opportunities.
On Wednesday and Thursday the college’s clubs will be holding games and other forms of competition. A dunk booth and various demonstrations also are scheduled for both days.
Coast Week is sponsored by the student government organization, Associated Students of Orange Coast College.
