A man barricaded inside his mobile home opened fire with a semiautomatic rifle, showering a Corona trailer park with bullets and injuring three people before surrendering. Police said Bobby Pegg, 25, began “randomly” firing dozens of rounds from a .22-caliber semiautomatic rifle from his trailer in the mobile home park in the 1500 block of Rimpau Avenue. One person was shot in the arm, a second was struck in the chest by a bullet that passed through several trailer walls, and a third was hit by flying glass. None of the wounds was serious. “It definitely had the potential to be worse than it was, but fortunately it did work out for the best,” Lt. Sam Spiegel said. Officers spent about two hours talking to Pegg by telephone before he surrendered peacefully. Pegg was booked on suspicion of attempted murder and shooting into a dwelling. Investigators had no motive for the shooting spree.
