Long Wait
Recently my wife and I had the unfortunate experience of going to the federal building on Wilshire Boulevard in West Los Angeles. This was our first experience of going to the passport office for renewal of our passports.
Upon entering, we were shocked to find at least 200 people standing in line for passports. There were eight attendants processing the paper work, when there was accommodations for at least twice that number. We stood in line for 3 1/2 hours with crying children and angry and frustrated adults.
We each paid $35 for our new passports, which is fine. But, at that price that office certainly could afford to have more help!
If you have ever had to stand in line under these conditions it becomes very tiring and frustrating--and so unnecessary! If nothing else, can’t the government afford chairs for people to sit on?
It is hard for me to believe our government operates an office like this. Something should be done to correct this immediately!
