6.1 Quake Shakes Peru

LIMA, Peru —
An earthquake registering 6.1 on the Richter scale and a series of seven minor aftershocks shook southern Peru but caused no damage or injuries, authorities said Wednesday. The quake at 6:21 p.m. Tuesday was centered 124 miles west of the city of Moquegua in the Pacific Ocean.
