Local News in Brief : Eminent Domain OKd for Street Widening
Glendale City Council members voted 4 to 0 Tuesday to use eminent domain proceedings on 11 parcels of property along a portion of North Central Avenue slated for widening.
The widening of Central Avenue is part of a $12-million master plan to alleviate downtown traffic congestion.
The city decided to obtain ownership through eminent domain after officials and owners of the property could not agree on a sale price, said Glendale City Atty. Frank R. Manzano.
