Greg Louganis relied on his final dive, a reverse 3 1/2-somersault tuck, to win the platform diving event at the U.S. Diving Championships in Milwaukee.

Louganis, earlier upset in the 1-meter and 3-meter events, trailed longtime rival Bruce Kimball going into the 10th and final dive from the 10-meter platform. But Louganis, who won two gold medals at the 1984 Olympics, scored 88.74 points on the last dive to win with a total of 612.21.
