Local News in Brief : Santa Ana : College Schedules Day for High School Seniors
Hundreds of high school students will be visiting Rancho Santiago College today for its annual Senior Day.
High school seniors will be given tours of the community college campus, will see educational demonstrations and will receive information about financial aid. The activities, which begin at 10 a.m., will include a free barbecue lunch on the college mall.
According to David Dobos, dean of student services, Senior Day has become “an annual educational experience” for local high school students.
“We have changed the focus of the Senior Day since our beginning 11 years ago when it was more of a carnival atmosphere,” Dobos said. “I feel our goals now include increasing the number of students who attend the event, increasing the participation of teachers, counselors and principals from the high schools and emphasizing our academic disciplines.”
