BARSTOW —
Using a narcotics-sniffing dog, officers found nearly $10,000 in suspected drug money strewn across the highway after a fatal car crash on Interstate 40, authorities said today.
A passenger in the car, a 28-year-old Oklahoma woman, was killed in the crash at 6:45 a.m. Tuesday, said California Highway Patrol Officer Jim Thompson. Her name was being withheld until relatives could be notified. Two Los Angeles men, believed to be members of the “Crips” street gang, were seriously injured in the crash, Thompson said.
