Local News in Brief : Baby in Crib Dies in Fire
An infant in her crib was killed when fire swept through a Pico Rivera house early Friday, authorities said.
“They think it was started from a mobile floor furnace” in the 8-month-old girl’s bedroom, Los Angeles County firefighter Vance Martinez said.
Three other people suffered minor injuries in the 4:43 a.m. blaze in the 8400 block of East Olympic Boulevard, Sheriff’s Deputy Richard Dinsmoor said.
The baby, who was not identified, was pronounced dead at the scene.
