Tax Rebates Donated to Fullerton Schools

Share

Thanks to the generosity of so many community people, the Fullerton School District received more than $5,000 in tax-rebate donations for equal distribution to its 18 schools.

Each school was given the option to utilize these funds according to individual need. Principals consulted with their staff members to determine which areas of the overall curricula should receive funding, and approximately half of the schools chose to purchase works of literature in support of language arts program.

In a technologically oriented society, I am most gratified to know that teachers continue to place so high a priority on classic literature.

Other equally valuable school-site choices included educational field trips, a sewing machine for a junior high clothing lab, a TV set, calculators, maps and globes, a video recorder, physical education equipment and earthquake preparedness supplies.

I extend a very warm “thank you” to the members of this community who have made all these choices possible.
