Home Shopping Network is launching a network for cable television that will focus on the entertainment industry, the company said. The new network, called “Show Business Today,” is scheduled to begin programming Jan. 15, according to Roy M. Speer, Home Shopping’s chairman. The network will report on personalities and events in the movie, television, theater and music industries, Speer said, adding: “The entertainment stars are the royalty of America, and the public has an insatiable desire to know more about them.”
