Local News in Brief : Countywide : Registration Deadline Nears for June Primary

Monday is the last day to register to vote in the June 7 primary, Orange County Registrar of Voters Donald Tanney announced.

To register, a person must be a resident of California, a U.S. citizen, not on parole or imprisoned for a felony conviction and be 18 years old by June 7.

To accommodate voters, the registrar’s office at 1300-C S. Grand Ave., Santa Ana, will be open today from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Monday from 8 a.m. to midnight.

There will also be deputy registrars posted today and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. at: Alpha Beta, 30252 Crown Valley Parkway, Laguna Niguel; and Ralphs market, 1900 N. Grand Ave., Santa Ana. They will be posted Saturday from noon to 5 p.m. at Huntington Center Mall, 7777 Edinger Ave., Huntington Beach.

In addition, volunteers for the county Democratic Party will register voters at the following locations throughout the weekend: MainPlace/Santa Ana, South Coast Plaza’s Crystal Court in Costa Mesa, Westminster Mall and Fedco, 3036 Harbor Blvd., Costa Mesa.

Republican volunteers will be registering people at the Orange County Swap Meet at the Orange County Fairgrounds in Costa Mesa and will be walking precincts throughout the county over the weekend.
