Local News in Brief : Dana Point : History Boat Parade to Cast Off Saturday
A parade of boats decorated in historical themes celebrating Orange County’s centennial will be held in Dana Point Harbor starting at 1 p.m. Saturday.
Event Chairman Luci Weichman of the Dana West Yacht Club said that boats from her club and the Capistrano Bay Yacht Club will be decorated to salute San Clemente’s Pageant of La Cristianita, the Old Mission at San Juan Capistrano, the Centennial Tallship Festival, the Orange County Marine Institute and other south county events and locations.
Visitors are advised to park at Dana Hills High School and use the harbor shuttle bus to ease the traffic load. The school is located at Street of the Golden Lantern and Stonehill Drive.
