Gang Leaves Its Mark at Woodland Hills Screening of ‘Colors’
Annoying as it is, most graffiti can be cleaned up for the price of a brush and a small can of paint.
But the gang name that popped up recently in the Warner Center area of Woodland Hills cost more than $2,000 to remove.
It was scrawled across a 32-foot-wide movie screen at the UA Movies theater on Canoga Avenue as the credits for the controversial police-street gang movie “Colors” were being shown, according to theater workers.
When the graffiti wouldn’t wash off, workers were forced to replace the screen in the 500-seat theater. “The screen is unusable,” said an assistant manager.
Theater employees said the gang name was scrawled as movie-goers were filing out of the screening room.
