If the slipper fits, you may want to audition for the starring role in “Cinderella Rock,” a movie musical being written by Richard O’Brien, who created and wrote the “Rocky Horror Picture Show.”

Trans World Entertainment, which is producing the $4-million to $6-million picture, is seeking women between the ages of 17 and 22 for auditions June 4 at 11 a.m. at the MainPlace mall, 2800 N. Main St. in Santa Ana.

Twenty-five women will be chosen to audition, based on written applications that must be completed by Tuesday. Professionals and amateurs may apply. For information, call (714) 547-7800.

Applicants who are picked will be asked to sing a 45-second song of their own choice. The producers will be holding similar auditions around the country at 20 other malls, according to a spokesman.

“There is no guarantee that one of the regional winners will actually get the starring role,” publicist Mark Rosenthal said. “But the genuine hope is that they will find their Cinderella this way.”

Trans World’s latest picture, “Kansas,” starring Matt Dillon and Andrew McCarthy, is being shown at the Cannes International Film Festival, Rosenthal said. He said the company is completing the filming of “The Tender”--a Michael Douglas production starring John Travolta--in Chicago. “Cinderella Rock” is scheduled to be filmed this summer in the San Fernando Valley, he said.
