Steve Kerr, who led Arizona to a berth in the NCAA Final Four, was the first pick in the World Basketball League draft. The league, for players 6-4 and under, will begin play today.
The 6-3 Kerr was selected by Las Vegas as 30 players were chosen by the six teams in a telephone conference call.
The other first-round picks, in order, were Levy Middlebrooks of Pepperdine by Vancouver; Perry McDonald of Georgetown by Chicago; Jeff Grayer of Iowa State by Fresno; Darren Queenan of Lehigh by Youngstown, Ohio; and Anthony Taylor of Oregon by Calgary, Canada.
