Odetics, the Anaheim maker of robotics and intelligent computers, said Wednesday that it has received a two-year, $3.6-million contract from Mitsubishi Corp. to complete development of a data recorder to be placed on a Japanese satellite. The contract brings the total that Odetics has received for the project to $8.3 million. Japan is scheduled to launch the satellite, which will collect data on natural resources, in 1992. The Odetics device will be used to record and play back the data.
