Bigger Loss Reserve

Thortec International of San Mateo, Calif., plans to increase its 1987 reserves for doubtful accounts and loss contracts, bringing the total estimated 1987 losses from continuing operations to between $14 million and $15 million, according to a Securities and Exchange Commission filing. The company also said in the filing that its audit for fiscal 1987 should be completed by the end of May.
