Sports agent Norby Walters will avoid criminal charges by paying the University of Alabama more than $200,000 and agreeing not to deal with Southeastern Conference athletes, according to a settlement announced by state Attorney General Don Siegelman in Tuscaloosa, Ala.
Walters, a New York-based agent, faced misdemeanor charges for his dealings with former Alabama basketball players Derrick McKey and Terry Coner.
