Outrage Over Beating of an Elephant

Share

It seems that Myers is afraid of rocking the ark when he says that Dr. Werner Heuschele’s statements regarding the treatment of Dunda “were not in context.”

While no one quoted has denied that Dunda was hit over the head, there is debate over whether ax handles or hickory sticks (which is the hardwood of choice in making ax handles) were used. Wouldn’t the public be outraged to read about health care professionals bantering back and forth over the use of clubs in disciplining children?

The facts seem to be that Dunda was chained down, struck on the head an undetermined number of times with an undetermined type of stick by an undetermined number of people, who, according to Roocroft, “love these animals.”

It is also a fact that when people put their “emotions on reserve” they help to create a history that is personally and corporately shameful.
