The State : Police Probe Kidnap Link

Share

Police are looking into whether the recent kidnaping of a little girl, the disappearance of another girl and the attempted abduction of a third in Northern California could be related. Candi Elizabeth Talarico, 4, was abducted while playing near her Sacramento apartment building and forced into a car by a mustachioed man of average build, police said. A woman in Roseville, about 20 miles away, read of the case and told Sacramento police that she had fought off a man who had been trying to force her screaming 5-year-old into his car. Sacramento Police Sgt. Ron Meadors said there may also be a link to the disappearance of 7-year-old Amber Swartz-Garcia, a nearly deaf girl who was last seen playing near her home in Pinole in Contra Costa County. “We’re going over the same areas again and again and again to make sure that we didn’t miss something,” Police Sgt. Douglas McArthur said of the search for Amber. “If she was there, I think we would have found her already.”
