Symphonies Conference to Explore Financial, Educational Issues

The Assn. of California Symphony Orchestras will hold its 20th anniversary conference on Aug. 4-6 at the Westin South Coast Plaza hotel in Costa Mesa.

The conference will address fund-raising, financial planning, marketing, educational and related issues. About 200 delegates from member organizations are expected to attend.

Speakers at the conference will include Ernest Fleischmann, executive director of the Los Angeles Philharmonic; Ralph Black, vice president of the American Symphony Orchestra League, and Juan Carrillo, director of programs of the California Arts Council.

Speakers from the local musical community will include Erich Vollmer, executive director of the Orange County Philharmonic Society; Martin Weil, managing director of Opera Pacific, and Louis Spisto, executive director of the Pacific Symphony.

The Pacific Symphony will be host for the conference.
