Rock and Hyde have split up, at least temporarily. Paul Hyde is doing a solo record while Bob Rock is becoming a hot producer. His “Kingdom Come” album’s just hit the 1 million mark. Now he’s working with Bon Jovi on the group’s new album, with the Cult on deck. . . . Glenn Frey has finished a new solo album, titled “Soul Searching,” which was partially recorded at everybody’s fave soul spot--Muscle Shoals, Ala. . . . The Paladins have signed with Chicago-based Alligator Records. The local boys’ new album, “Years Since Yesterday,” is due out this month. . . . Gary Wright (remember him?) has a new album due out June 28 titled “Who I Am” on Cypress Records. . . . Our Favorite Group Name of the Week goes to the Blazing Redheads, a seven-woman band who have a new Latin-jazz CD out on Reference Records. . . . Our Rock Radio Mismatch of the Week goes to KLOS-FM morning men Mark and Brian, who had the Rev. Jesse Jackson on the air Monday. It was hard to say what was funnier--hearing the Rev. Jackson completely upstage our favorite lunkheads or hear them repeatedly call him Mr. Jackson. (At least they didn’t call him Action Jackson). . . . And last week we botched the name of our favorite KMPC-FM morning deejay. His correct moniker, of course, is Guy Lombardo-- whoops, there we go again. Of course, we meant Guy Kemp.
