Marc Buoniconti was paralyzed in a 1985 football accident because the team doctor and trainer at The Citadel were negligent in treating his neck condition, Buoniconti’s lawyer charged in the opening day of a suit against the military college in Charleston, S.C.
School lawyers countered that Buoniconti was paralyzed because he had his head down, in violation of the rules, when he tackled an East Tennessee State player.
