The La Mesa City Council, citing the testimony of “aggressive, articulate community leaders,” has reversed its decision to scrap the city’s 15-month-old public art program. Colleen Finnegan, the city’s cultural arts supervisor, said the council decided to fund the program for another 12 months and allocated $75,000, only $3,000 less than had been requested.
