Today Clipboard concludes its survey of summer activities for kids. It is not a complete list, but is meant to give parents an idea of the breadth of programs available during summer vacation. In some cases, schedules, fees and other particulars are still taking shape. Those wishing more information for a particular program should call the telephone number listed. LAGUNA ART MUSEUM

Plein-Air Painting and Drawing: practicing techniques of drawings and paintings; looking at impressionist paintings in the museum.

Part I (mostly drawing, using a variety of media).

SANTA ANA ZOO

National Zoo and Aquarium Month, highlighting the zoo’s roll in breeding endangered species and educating visitors on the need for conservation.

Special handouts and activities for children ages 3-12 on Saturday, June 25, from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. Spotlight on two new African exhibits, free with 75-cent zoo admission.

Junior Zoo Camp: morning program takes place at zoo and focuses on the animal kingdom through science activities and animal contact.

Fee: $60

Ages: 6 and 7

When: Three five-day sessions, Monday-Friday, June 27-July 1; Monday-Friday, July 25-29, and Monday-Friday, Aug. 8-12.

Zoo Camp I: allows campers to work directly with animals and experience the new zoo laboratory, work as an animal keeper and enjoy special field trips. Evening barbeque and sundown safari through the zoo.

Zoo Camp II: offers new laboratory sessions with more opportunities to handle animals and practice animal keeping. Includes two field trips to Los Angeles County Zoo and Newport Back Bay.

Zoo Camp III: provides extensive opportunity to work with animals on daily basis. Campers are taught animal husbandry skills through discussions and hands-on training. Thursdays spent at San Diego Wild Animal Park.

Floating Lab Deep Sea Expedition: A family-oriented demonstration expedition to explore the deeper regions of the Continental Shelf off Dana Point. Time is spent onboard the “Seawatch,” a research vessel from U.S.C. that features a fully-appointed laboratory.

Fee: $9 per child (under 12), $18 per adult

Ages: not recommended for children 6 or younger
