Steven A. Sherman, who is accused of pointing an unloaded gun at his former boss after being fired, was arraigned Thursday in Central Orange County Municipal Court on four misdemeanor charges, according to his attorney.

Sherman, who was not present at the arraignment, was charged with of assault with a deadly weapon, assault, battery and brandishing a firearm, said defense attorney Robert D. Chatterton of Orange.

Formerly assistant vice president of Silvercrest Industries in Santa Ana, Sherman is charged with breaking into a meeting attended by company president Richard Simonian on May 26. Sherman, apparently angry at being fired by the company president, is charged with holding Simonian at gunpoint with an unloaded pistol and pushing him from a chair.
