Share

The County Board of Supervisors on Tuesday created a committee of elected Dana Point officials to review land-use proposals affecting the unincorporated Dana Point area between now and Jan. 1, when it officially becomes a city.

The committee will be made up of all five persons elected to the new Dana Point City Council. It will review and make recommendations on appeals of actions taken by the Planning Commission. The Board of Supervisors makes final decisions on such appeals.

The proposal to include Dana Point leaders in land-use decisions before the area officially becomes a city was offered by Supervisor Thomas F. Riley after the June 7 election.
