Police Keep Laker Fans, Cars Moving

Inglewood and Los Angeles police called in more than 60 officers to control crowds “and get traffic moving” along Crenshaw Boulevard near the Forum after the Lakers won their second straight NBA title Tuesday night, authorities reported.

But there were no arrests or injuries reported immediately, officers said.

Sgt. Bill Maarschalk at 77th Division of the L.A. Police Department said nearly 30 officers were needed “to get crowds back on the sidewalk” in the area of Crenshaw Boulevard and Florence Avenue, “which was the worst bottleneck. Basically, they were just yelling and screaming and honking horns and letting off steam, and nothing was moving.”
