Governor Vetoes Helmet Bill
While the automobile has the potential for being a dangerous vehicle for transporting people, the motorcycle, because of its very design, is an intrinsically dangerous vehicle to ride upon.
Just as there is not a sensible reason for not using safety belts when driving or riding in an automobile, there is not a sensible reason for driving or riding upon a motorcycle.
If the intent of the motorcycle helmet law was to protect those who ride motorcycles, I submit that in the interest of protection, they can best be protected by outlawing motorcycles.
