Santa Monica : College OKs Parking Lot Lease
The Board of Trustees of the Santa Monica Community College District on Monday approved a 10-year agreement with the city to lease an 850-space parking lot at the Santa Monica Airport.
The lease is part of a landmark agreement between the city and the college to reduce traffic congestion in the neighborhood around the college, including plans to lease classroom space at the Douglas Museum and create preferential parking districts around the college for residents.
A free shuttle service will be provided for college commuters to and from the airport lot at the Douglas Museum Site.
Beginning in July, the district will pay $100,000 a year for the lease.
